Is my computer 32-bit or 64-bit? Some of the system installer disks sold here are specific about whether your computer processes data in 32-bit or 64-bit chunks. So how to tell?
Windows (Vista to Windows 10): Press and hold the Windows Key and the Pause key. In the window that opens look for “System Type”. It will tell you whether the processor is 32-bit or 64-bit. It will also confirm if the system software is the same.
Mac: Go to the Apple menu at the top left of the screen and choose About This Mac. In the window that opens look for “Processor”. If the processor is an Intel Core Solo or Intel Core Duo, then it is 32-bit. If it is any other Intel processor, including Core 2 Duo, it is 64-bit.
